I've always felt like being a designer is incredibly different from being an artist, and there is nothing wrong with that. I would like to believe that I am both - it's just a simple fact that I cannot and would not be able to live without doing either one. The reason why I brought this up is because it is a pretty interesting balance having to maintain both in my life. Not sure if you would be able to relate, but being a designer (at least for me) is all about being careful and especially precise - it is important that I get the colours and typography right. Whereas on the other side of the spectrum, there is my artsy fartsy self. I can be as creative as I want to be, and using clashing colours can be my style (it isn't though). I can draw houses and castles on a penguin and call it Penguinville and nobody would judge me for that (fingers crossed).
Anyway, I love being a designer and artist, and I am always so excited for opportunities in the future. It most certainly is tough being both, but I am who I am now because of this ambiguous equilibrium. :D Now back to homework!
